Inspired On The Job!
It’s been a big year at Anji Foster Property, not without its challenges, but as 2025 comes to a close we feel nothing but gratitude for those that trusted us to help them along their journey of selling or buying property here in Wellington.
There are many aspects of this work that we get joy and satisfaction from, happy clients, closed deals and sale signs are just a few of them! But, one of the coolest bonuses that comes from working in real estate is getting the opportunity to step foot in so many incredible, unique properties.
This year we saw a bit of everything from inner city apartments and townhouses to home & income properties and family homes. There is always something uniquely charming to love about each property we see, but there are a handful of homes that stick with us and as a lover of architecture, landscaping and interior design, this is an infinite source of inspiration for me.
So, for our final journal post of 2025, I wanted to highlight a handful of properties that we had the joy of spending time in this year. From dream kitchens and gardens to character features and retro charm, finding inspiration on the job is easy when properties like these come across our desk…
Dream Kitchen - 5 Armour Ave, Mt Victoria
I’m a sucker for a gorgeous kitchen and there’s no question that the kitchen renovation our clients did at 5 Armour Ave takes the cake. This kitchen is the perfect balance between contemporary and classic, with the addition of warm timber tones and pops of colour making this kitchen and dining space a breath of fresh air. I love the light blue shade used in the cabinetry, marble bench-top and antique brass tapware, each element perfectly considered. Without fail, every person who walked through this Mt Victoria home was gushing over this kitchen!
Garden Goals - 78 Wade Street, Wadestown
I think we can all agree that there are few things better than a home with a luscious garden, and when I first arrived at 78 Wade Street, the outdoor spaces took my breath away. With several different sun-soaked zones, this garden has the ability to transport you somewhere far from Wellington, whilst still being so close to the city. With space to grow herbs and veges, relax in the sun and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature, I could spend some serious time in this garden.
Retro Charm - 20B Argentine Ave, Miramar
It’s always exciting when we get the opportunity to visit a property with unique character or retro charm and 20B Argentine Ave in Miramar had some of the coolest retro features we’ve come across. My daughter Bella, an avid lover of all things retro and mid-century, instantly fell in love with the pastel brick fireplace, breeze block wall and stunning glass front door. It’s rare to find a mid-century home in Wellington with so many original features in great condition and this one was a true gem.
Character Features - 84 Wilson Street, Newtown
Possibly one of the cutest homes we spent time in in 2025, 84 Wilson had one of our busiest open homes of the year, and for good reason! This adorable 2 bedroom property in Newtown is packed full of character features from stained glass windows, original tiled fireplaces and crown moulding. I think I can speak for the whole team when I say we all fell in love with this home and its character charm.
Fan Favourite - Murrayfield Apartments, 42 Tinakori Road
Another listing that saw plenty of interest and busy open homes was the apartment at Murrayfield on Tinakori Road. This beautiful art deco building is a piece of history that’s been meticulously cared for over the decades, resulting in a true wow factor before you even walk through the door. But the real hero of this apartment is the huge curved glass window, looking out to lush greenery and the city beyond. This apartment was a very easy place to spend time in!
Styled To Perfection - 4/85 Elizabeth Street, Mt Victoria
We’re always happy to help sellers get their homes ready for sale whether that’s through a full or partial home stage or a simple rearrangement of furniture. But, it’s definitely a bonus when we get the opportunity to sell a property that’s as beautifully styled as 4/85 Elizabeth Street. Our client had plenty of experience in interior decorating and it definitely showed through her perfectly eclectic choice of furniture and decor. I definitely left this property feeling inspired!
