Beautify Your Bathroom On a Budget

Fully renovating a bathroom can be a rewarding but very expensive process, so it’s good to have some tips up your sleeve to beautify your bathroom if renovation is off the cards. One of the simplest and most cost effective ways to transform any space is paint and the bathroom is no exception. Whether its crisp white paint or one of your favourite shades, a fresh coat of paint will reinvigorate a tired bathroom and is something that you can do yourself. If you are feeling adventurous, then wallpaper can take your walls to a new level and can set the tone for the rest of your bathroom beautification.

If budget allows, the other large space in your bathroom is the floor, and new tiles or vinyl flooring can add enormous value. If that is a step too far for your budget, a cost effective way to bring some personality to your bathroom floor is through the use of colourful and fun bath mats. These can be cheap as chips, or if you want to go designer, there is something for all budgets when it comes to these handy little room lifters. If you are needing to work with existing colours in your bathroom, be it your vanity or coloured tiles, try and work with the existing colour palette when choosing a bathmat. This will make the room feel more planned and cohesive.

In addition to bath mats, the other soft furnishing in your bathroom and a cost effective way to give your space a lift is with towels. Much the same as bath mats, the prices can vary enormously for towels, so shop around. Google “Towel” with the key colours you are working with in your bathroom and you’ll find many options, from the simple to the snazzy. Speaking of colour, my favourite way to add some joy to a bathroom or seperate toilet is with funky toilet paper. My personal pick is With Small, who provide toilet paper made from sustainably grown bamboo fibres. But not only is this environmentally friendly toilet paper, it is also wrapped in plastic free brightly coloured paper. These toilet rolls make for a cheerful way to bring some personality and luxury to any bathroom space. And finally, how many bathrooms in home magazines have iconic bottles of Aesop soap adding to the luxe vibes of the space. These can be an investment in themselves, but my hack with these is to just buy them once and then refill with a more cost effective, gently scented liquid soap from the supermarket. No one will know, and you get the aesthetic credits without it breaking the bank. So, if your budget is tight but you are wanting to give your bathroom a lift, hopefully these cost effective tips will guide the way.
