It’s The Little Things…

Large statement pieces in a room often get all of the attention, but it’s the little things dotted throughout a home that can provide a space with a little colour, personality or story. It’s the little things that can bring a home together and make it distinctly yours.

A few of my favourite little things in our home…

Salt & Pepper Shakers

This is our second set of Audo Bottle Grinders. Our first Grey tone set became strangely sticky after being wrapped up with food items during our last house move and none of us could work out an effective way to clean them (after many attempts). So set number two was required which gave us the perfect opportunity to choose a shade more in line with our new home. The lovely pink shades and simple Copenhagen design aesthetic make these two a welcome addition to our kitchen.

Kartell Ghost Stool

Our lovely tiled shower is one of the best showers I‘ve been in for water pressure and space, however storage is only via a very small niche, and if you’re anything like me, there’s usually a range of bottles of various potions that live in the shower and need a place to rest. I had coveted the classic Kartell Ghost Stool for some years, so this seemed like to perfect opportunity to achieve both form and function.

Pure Portable LED Lamp

I always like leaving low light on in the kitchen at night because it’s not unusual for someone in the family to need something from there in the wee small hours. This portable lamp which is charged via USB cable provides the ideal amount of soft light while also looking stylishly simple. We use this one indoors and out and it’s fully portable which makes for the ideal lamp.

Fay Pillar Candle Holder

This has been my buy of the year! When at Country Road a few months ago I spotted this heavy marble Candle Holder on sale. It was down to $24 from about $150 and works so well with the textures and tones of our home. I couldn’t believe I had found such a beautiful object for such a good price and felt pretty chuffed with myself for the rest of the day. Nothing like snatching a good bargain!

Ribbed Cocktail Glasses

These were a present from my Mum and are perfect for a special occasion cocktail when the mood calls for more celebratory glassware. The gorgeous blush pink shade of these glasses makes everything a little more rosey and they add a appealing promise of an aperitif as they sit patiently on our bar cart waiting for the next celebration.
